Throughout the year, but especially off season when it is very quiet around here, you may meet a group of roe deer or a fox during a walk. But there are of course many more mammals at and around Domaine Lacanal, such as wild boars and hamsters.

We have already spotted many animals ourselves, including roe deer, fox, weasel, stone marten, squirrel, dormouse, and hedgehog.

In warmer periods, you can also easily spot different kinds of lizards and toads. We have also seen a few (non-venomous) snakes.

Do you fancy insects? During the summer, you can hear crickets day and night and grasshoppers jump away before your feet when you walk through the meadows. By the water, you see different dragonflies. We have also seen many different beetles, spiders, butterflies, glowworms, and so on... far too much to mention them all.
